Florida Wildflower & Garden Festival Recipient of the Florida Secretary of State's Award for Outstanding Special Event March 23, 2013 9:00am-3:00pm Free Parking and Admission Speakers, Demonstrations, Plant & Gardening Supply Vendors, Kids Art Zone, Live Music and More! This event is a forum to promote environmentally-friendly and sustainable gardening practices, and features speakers, demonstrations and plant & gardening supply vendors! The festival is organized by the MainStreet DeLand Association, a 501(c)(3) non profit corporation, in cooperation with the Florida Wildflower Foundation, University of Florida IFAS, Quality Green Specialists, River of Lakes Heritage Corridor Scenic Highway and the Museum of Florida Art. FREE Shuttle to and from the DeLand Outdoor Art Festival At Earl Brown Park! Coloring Contest As part of the 6th Annual Florida Wildflower and Garden Festival, the MainStreet DeLand Association is sponsoring a children's coloring contest, offering kids a fun chance to get involved with the festival and learn about native Florida wildflowers. The winner of the contest will receive $50 of MainStreet Money to spend in downtown DeLand stores and restaurants. Children under age 12 were invited to color the page and bring it and the completed entry slip to the festival information booth. The winner was chosen by random drawing at the end of the festival. Congratulations to our 2012 coloring contest winner, Miranda Jason! Thank you to everyone who entered. The submissions were all beautiful! Vendors In addition to wildflower & gardening education, the festival features vendors who provide information, wildflower and gardening-themed products, and arts and crafts related to general gardening, native plant gardening, gardening for birds, butterflies and wildlife, habitat creation, home improvement, environmental conservation, recycling and "Green" living.
