Celebrate the Season With us in Downtown DeLand
Merry Christmas! I’ll bet you’ve seen the signs and heard the greeting earlier this year than any other. It may seem out of place, but for this year there may be good reason. The news is full of reports of staffing shortages, shipping and trucking issues, and an improving economy that likely makes that go to gift unavailable in the stores and online. That’s why I hope you plan on Shopping Small and Local as much as you can this Holiday Season. Why get stressed?
When you are Shopping Local and Shopping Small you are showing the love you feel for your community. They say when you shop small, someone does a Happy Dance. I think there are more than one person dancing when purchase from a Small Business is made.
I’m sure the restauranteur and the retail merchant do a dance. I think their employees do a dance because you are supporting their jobs. I think the buyer does a Happy Dance, too! Each purchase we make, large or small, strengthens our community.
We have so much to be thankful for this year. I know many who will share this Christmas missing those they’ve lost. Others will spend Christmas with a new addition to the family or with new friends and loved ones.

We welcomed our new Assistant Director, Nikki Natriello, to our staff in November. We are looking forward to more great things happening in our organization and in Downtown DeLand.
