35 Years as a Florida Main Street Community

Happy New Year from MainStreet DeLand Association! 2019 was an amazing year for us. We look forward to making 2020 even better. Among other things, we will be celebrating our 35th anniversary as a Florida Main Street community.

A lot has happened over these 35 years to make and keep DeLand an award-winning downtown and Main Street. We will bring up some interesting history throughout the year. It should be fun.

Nothing makes a community better than when you support the local businesses in your community. Thank you for supporting our Shop Small initiative. Downtown DeLand continues to have a good variety of great shops, excellent restaurants with a variety of cuisines, and other businesses in the mix that make it a real downtown.

As the new year and new decade begin, make it your resolution to shop small and support DeLand’s small businesses. Supporting our Mom and Pop shops and restaurants will keep DeLand, well, it will keep it DeLand. And, when you buy a local brick and mortar business, $.67 of every $1 stays local where it will do the most good.

2020 gets off to a fast start in Downtown DeLand. In January, you won’t want to miss “Taste of DeLand”. Some of the area’s finest restaurants will be offering samples of their most popular dishes. February brings the DeLand Craft Beer Festival, the Me Strong 5k, and the Mardi Gras Dog Parade. There’s even more coming in March!
