Bringing Back Events

We are in the process of planning events again.  We will do our best to provide a safe environment for you, our volunteers, and our staff to enjoy our festivals.  While the DeLand Bike Rally is way too large of an event for us to start with logistically, we are looking forward to smaller event like our annual Florida Wildflower and Garden Festival on March 27th.  Festival goers will notice our new East Indiana Avenue location so we can have added spacing between vendors and attendees.  There will be plenty of sanitizer on hand and masks will be required.

We are also planning for the DeLand Craft Beer Festival in April.  All of our upcoming events will include our best efforts for you to have an enjoyable day in Downtown DeLand.  Be on the lookout for our St. Patrick’s Day promotion, Get Lucky in DeLand!

St. Patty’s Day 2020 was when Covid-19 began to really affect our downtown. Through amazing community support and great effort on the part of our downtown businesses and property owners, your downtown has remained an amazing place to call home and a great place to dine and shop.  We here at MainStreet DeLand thank you for helping keep Downtown strong and ask for your continued support by shopping local.

DeLand and MainStreet lost a good friend last month when former City Manager Wayne Sanborn passed.  Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends.  You may honor Wayne’s memory by donating to MainStreet DeLand Association or the Neighborhood Center of West Volusia.

Visit www.MainStreetDeLand.org to see what’s happening downtown.  You can sign up for our weekly e-blast, join MainStreet DeLand, or make a donation.  Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and other social media platforms.

 See you downtown soon,

Wayne Carter
