Giving Thanks

As another Halloween passes us by, it’s time to focus on the real holiday season. One of the best things about this time of year is it gives us pause to stop and offer thanks to those who help us along the way. At MainStreet DeLand we have dozens of faithful volunteers who donate thousands of hours to make things happen. Thank you to all of you who help.

There are others. The Rotary Club of DeLand was an awesome partner for Haunted Hollow. They and the other Rotary and Service Clubs support numerous non-profits throughout the community. Some people volunteer for Dog Parades or 5K races. Thank you to all of you who are willing to give of yourselves to make Downtown DeLand the heart of this community.

We get to thank Volusia County’s veterans on November 9th. Join us for the Volusia County Veterans Day Parade. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 with the parade starting at 10:00.

Also on the 9th is Bourbon, Brews, and Blues. Tickets are available through Eventbrite at www.MainStreetDeLand.org. The Fall Festival of The Arts is on the 23rd and 24th. Shop Small Saturday kicks off the Christmas season on November 30th.

Small, unique shops and restaurants give DeLand the small town feel you enjoy so much. Remember to buy local to keep our community strong!

Looking to do your part? Go to MainStreetDeLand.org to find volunteer and sponsor opportunities and to get more information to everything that’s happening in you award winning downtown. Thank you!

See you Downtown,
