Spring in Downtown DeLand

Spring in DeLand is my favorite time of year. It’s the perfect temperature for exploring Downtown. Our great little shops and restaurants depend on you all year round, but in the spring the doors are open and inviting, sidewalk dining is at its best, and you can always enjoy a great experience. While you’re downtown, slow down and notice the neat things your community has to offer. Sculptures, murals, utility box art, museums, theatre, all add to the quality of life we enjoy.

March begins with the DeLand Bike Rally. Thousands of bikers will spend March 7th with us! Our event kicks off Daytona’s Bike Week. These Bikers make a big impact on our local economy. Please remember to “Look Twice and Save a Life!”

March ends with our Florida Wildflower and Garden Festival on the 28th. West Indiana Avenue fills up plant vendors, we have expert speakers, and demonstrations. Also that weekend, is the DeLand Outdoor Art Festival in Earl Brown Park on the 28th and 29th.

In between the Bikes and the Flowers, check out the items on our calendar like our Build Your Business Group or Wine, Women, Chocolate. Some of the other events you can enjoy downtown include the Majestic Car Show and the DeLand Classic Car Cruise-In. How about the Friday Night Artisan and Makers Market or the DeLand Indie Market? There’s always something going on here and you can find all you need to know at www.MainStreetDeLand.org.

Most importantly, remember to Buy Local. Supporting your downtown brick and mortar shops, restaurants, and services keeps your money here in town, where it will do the most good and keep our community strong. Look for our Business directories in the Shop, Dine, Be Entertained section on our website.

Want to be an active participant in DeLand? Shop and Dine in your Downtown businesses and attend and volunteer at Downtown events. Let your family and friends know that they can spend time here at quality museums and at unique shops and restaurants. DeLand’s award winning Downtown is a great destination for you and your visitors.

See you Downtown!
