Shop Small for the Holidays!

There are several ways to judge what a community thinks about their town. It might be the nice things they say but more importantly it’s probably the nice things they do? When you love your community you volunteer for the benefit of your community. And, when you love your community, you spend your money locally, where it does the most good.

That’s why Shopping Small and buying from your favorite downtown businesses all year long is so important, but especially at this time of year. Everyone knows the Holidays are when most of us do most of our spending. This year American Express celebrated the 10th Annual Small Business Saturday. Thanks to all of you who supported the Small Businesses in Downtown DeLand.

To continue to encourage you to do your Christmas shopping Downtown, a $25 purchase in one of neat little Downtown shops enters you a drawing to win $250 MainStreet Dollars. Shop early and shop often!

We’ve had a couple of very busy months here at MainStreet DeLand. We produced our first annual “Haunted Hollow” with our friends and the Rotary Club of DeLand. Thousands of children and adults found their way downtown for Monsters on MainStreet and for the Volusia County Veterans Day Parade. We even hosted a Bourbon, Brews and Blues Festival. Our volunteers were amazing. We are so blessed in this town with many talented and giving people.

Friday December 6th join us Downtown as we light the tree in Pioneer Park and welcome Santa to town. Saturday the 7th is the Rotary Christmas Parade. Then join us for Fridays Before Christmas. Complete details are available on our website at www.MainStreetDeLand.org

As we look toward the end of this year, there is much to be thankful for. Enjoy this time with friends and family, and enjoy our relaxing Downtown shopping experience. You’ll be glad you did. We at MainStreet DeLand wish you the merriest of Christmases and a blessed Holiday Season.

Shop Small for the Holidays! See You Downtown.
