Motorcycles, Flowers and Art
What do motorcycles, flowers and art have in common? Downtown DeLand, of course! Especially this month.
Have you heard the roar? March in Volusia County always brings the excitement of people enjoying the early Spring we have in Florida. There’s no better place to ride than West Volusia and on Saturday March 9th, thousands will migrate to our downtown. The DeLand Rally is a popular way for Bikers to meet up with their friends before heading to Bike Week in Daytona.
These Biker’s mean a lot to DeLand and Volusia. Don’t forget to “Look Twice and Save a Life”.
As the motorcycles leave us, we move on to the quieter things in life. On March 23rd, MainStreet DeLand presents the Florida Wildflower and Garden Festival. West Indiana Ave. will be filled with local nurseries and vendors offering just what you’ll need to get your lawns in top shape.
On the 23rd and 24th you can enjoy the DeLand Outdoor Art Festival in Earl Brown Park featuring arts, crafts, live music and food. On Saturday you can catch a shuttle from the Wildflower Festival to the Art Festival.
Other things to be on the lookout for are the DeLand Area Chamber’s Clean Up DeLand Day on March 16th. Also, new sculptures are on the way. Golfers should be signing up for the Mayor’s Golf Tournament. The tournament is on April 5th.
Remember to slow down and notice the neat things your community has to offer. Sculptures, murals, utility box art, museums, theatre, all add to the quality of life we enjoy.
Want to be an active participant in DeLand? Shop and Dine in your Downtown businesses and attend and volunteer at Downtown events. Let your family and friends know that they can spend time here at quality museums and at unique shops and restaurants. DeLand’s award winning Downtown is a great destination for you and your visitors.
You can find out about all this and more at MainStreetDeLand.org! You’ll find calendars and links to our amazing local attractions. There’s always something going on in DeLand.
See you Downtown!
