Taste of DeLand - 10th Anniversary

What a great turnout we had for the 10th Anniversary Taste of DeLand.  Committee Chairs Janet Dixon and Melisa Reed did an amazing job organizing the event.  We had 26 restaurants participate.  Thanks to everyone who came out to make the event successful.

February kicks off Volusia Beer Week.  All across DeLand and Volusia County, craft beer enthusiasts will sample artisan beers from local pubs, enjoy a historic mural walk, and enjoy beer and food pairings.  On Saturday February 11th, over a thousand connoisseurs from across the state will converge on East Indiana Ave for the DeLand Craft Beer Festival.  Tickets and information for all the Beer Week activities are available at: www.VolusiaBeerWeek.com.

If Beer isn’t your thing check out the Krewe of Amalee’s Mardi Gras on Main Street Dog Parade in February 25th.  Thousands of our two and four legged friends will parade down Woodland Blvd. dressed in Mardi Gras fashions.  Information including registration forms are available at www.DeLandDogParade.com.

The Main Street Board of Directors held its Annual Membership Meeting on January 12th.  Members elected two new Board members, Mark Watts and Ben Collins, to the MSDA Board of Directors.  They also re-elected several Board Members who were scheduled to go off the Board to another three-year term. Approximately one third of the Board rotates off each year.  The officers for 2017 include: Melisa Reed, President; Karen Haught, Secretary; Savannah-Jane Griffin, Treasurer; Charles Matousek, Past President; and three At Large members: Andy Sistrunk, Geof Felton, and Paige Holley.
