West Volusia Historical Society & DeLand House Museum
The West Volusia Historical Society's mission is to collect, record, store, protect and interpret the physical and cultural heritage of the City of DeLand & West Volusia County, and to share that heritage with the community and visitors alike. Visitors are invited to visit the Historical Society located in the Henry A. DeLand House.
The DeLand House Museumwas built in 1886 for DeLand's first attorney, Arthur George Hamlin, who also developed the Hamlin Orange. Originally a one-and-a-half story structure, the house was built upon land purchased from Henry A. DeLand, the founding father of the City.
