Local History Talk | City of DeLand Digital History Tour

  • WVHS Conrad Educational & Research Center 137 West Michigan Avenue DeLand, FL, 32720 United States (map)

The City of DeLand launched its first-ever Digital History Tour in 2023, in celebration of National Historic Preservation Month. This interesting tour brings DeLand’s rich history to our fingertips! City planners Belinda Williams-Collins, Emily Kunkel and Carol Kuhn, along with Community Information Manager Chris Graham researched the sites for to be showcased, gathered photos and historical snippets, and published them to Google Maps and Google Earth. Come behind the scenes for a historic snapshot of each site on the tour, a glimpse into the creation process, and details about the success of this project. Presenters will also share information about additional City preservation initiatives and projects.

Presented by WVHS lifetime member Ginger Johnston and Emily Kunkel, City of DeLand Historic Resource Coordinator.

Conrad Educational & Research Center, 137 W Michigan Avenue, DeLand. 6 pm.

Free and open to the public.
