Locals Helping Locals

One of the really great things about DeLand is the positive attitudes people chose to embrace. If we get lemons, we make lemonade. Even during this terrible time, people continue to come together to support each other and to find ways to help. Businesses share ideas and promote each other. It’s locals helping locals and people wanting the best for each other.

The entrepreneurial spirit remains strong in DeLand. Perhaps it’s stronger than ever. In Downtown, business owners are implementing new ideas, sharpening their skills, and are determined to defeat this virus. I’m sure it’s that way all over DeLand.

If you haven’t been Downtown lately, maybe it’s time to start thinking about it. There are several new shops that have opened in the past few weeks, restaurants are seating at 50% capacity and some offer outdoor seating. Everyone is doing their best to keep you and their employees safe. In addition, you will need to wear a mask when inside a DeLand business. Small towns like DeLand are great places to shop and dine because the crowds are smaller than in the more urban areas.

Many shops and restaurants offer online shopping and ordering. Curbside pickup and delivery are still available with most businesses. Supporting your favorite Downtown businesses is the best thing you can do to keep your community strong.

Everyone is welcome in Downtown DeLand. Go to MainStreetDeLand.org to link to our Shop, Dine, Be Entertained directory, or find your favorite place on Facebook or Instagram. Buy Local!

Thanks for supporting Downtown DeLand!
