Christmas Already!

It’s hard to believe it’s Christmas time already.  Is it just me or has this year flown by for everyone?  I guess it’s true that time flies when you’re having fun.  It’s sure been a fun year here at MainStreet DeLand.  The year started off with some great events, we were thrilled by the support we received in winning the America’s Main Street Contest.  We are even more thrilled by the support you showed our merchants on Small Business Saturday and throughout the year!

It’s not cliché’ to say that the things we love about our Downtown start with the small businesses that line our streets.  Where else can you find the one of kind gifts for your loved ones this Christmas season. There are great restaurants for dining or catering for your parties or for entertaining family and friends. While you’re downtown, check out the many other services that are available here.

Having trouble deciding on just the right gift? Don’t forget about the Downtown Gift Certificates.  Stop by the MainStreet office and buy “MainStreet Bucks”.  They are accepted at most of the Downtown shops and restaurants.  They make great stocking stuffers as well as a great gift.  Our Taste of DeLand tickets should be available just in time for Christmas too.

There’s a lot going on this time of year so make sure you get our weekly email or “Like” us on Facebook to stay on top of it all.  Already in progress is the Mistletoe March.  We’ve replaced the Elves with our Toy Soldiers which you’ll find hiding in many of our downtown shops.  Also new this year is something we’re calling “Fridays Before Christmas”.  Santa will stop by the DeLand Cruise-In on the 16th. Take time to enjoy this special time of year with your community, friends, and family.  I look forward to what 2018 offers, but I think I’ll take a little more time a savor this year and this Holiday season.
