This is what historians do...We listen to voices, and we listen to silences" (Leon Litwack). Recognizing the absence of an easily traceable recorded history of hidden spaces and silent populations can be as important as tracing the historical significance of the populations and types of spaces more commonly identified as being of historical significance. This session will explore a case study of East Pasco County, Florida and the missing stories of its silenced African American population.

Heather Paker, Dean College of Arts and Sciences, Saint Leo University

Held at the Lynn Business Center at Stetson University
