This session will focus on instances in which historic preservation is utilized as a tool to protect communities facing the threat of displacement. In rapidly changing cities, storytelling and building conservation can be incorporated into programs that promote economic and physical sustainability, both by nonprofit and governmental preservationists. This session will identify opportunities and challenges that come with the use of preservation as a stabilization tool.
